Goldenrod is a perennial flowering plant belonging to the Asteraceae family and the genus Solidago L.
The Asteraceae family is one of the most important in perfumery, including species such as Artemisia (wormwood, armoise, tarragon, davana), as well as tagetes, tansy, and immortelle.
Chemotypes :
There are 125 different species in the solidago genus.
Only Solidago canadensis L. is used in perfumery.
Also note the presence of Solidago virgaurea L. (European Golden Rod) and Solidago puberula Nutt. (Puberulent solidage)
