Uses in perfumery :
Vertofix® is used in woody and ambery notes to give tenacity, wake and to fix the note, combined with warm wood notes. More powerful and more tenaceous than Cedramber®, for example.

Vertofix® is synthesized from a natural raw material, but is not directly present in its natural state.
Isomerism :
Vertofix® is a constitutional isomer of Trimofix®, having a more ambery and cedarwood smell.
Synthesis precursor :
Vertofix® is not a precursor to the synthesis of another compound of olfactory interest.
Synthesis route :
Vertofix® is synthesized by an acetylation of particular fractions of cedarwood Virginia EO. These fractions must contain Alpha-Cedrene and contain Thujopsene. The acid acetylation of these two compounds synthesizes Vertofix® and another compound called ''G Isomer '', resulting from the presence of Thujopsene. This isomer represents 5 to 10% of Vertofix® used in perfumery.
